Sämtliche einzeln überlieferten Klavierwerke Bachs erscheinen in drei praxisgerechten, handlichen Ausgaben.In Band 1 sind zusätzlich die vielgespielten Sechs kleinen Praeludien abgedruckt, außerdem enthält er zahlreiche einzelstehende Praeludien und Fugen sowie Fantasien, darunter Praeludium und Fuge darunter Praeludien und Fuge a-Moll, BWV 894. Auch die in Bachs CEuvre einzigartige Chromatische Fantasie und Fuge d-Moll, BWV 903, ist in diesem Band enthalten. Zahlreiche Werke werden in mehreren aufschlussreich voneinander differierenden Fassungen wiedergegeben, aus denen frühere Editionen nicht selten eigenmächtige Mischfassungen konstruiert haben.
