In the first position (V1), this tube set features our RT-7025 TAD REDBASE 7025/E83CC HIGHGRADE which is outstanding because of its high gain, low microphony, powerful mids and a round, rich overtone sound. Played clean, the 7025 delivers a warm liquid tone which is very responsive to dynamic playing.

 

The following three positions (V2-V4) have our RT003 12AX7A/ECC83 TAD Premium Selected. Powerful with punchy mids - great for British tones!

 

For the power tubes, we choose a matched quartet of our RT274 TAD-EL84-Cz with high-class cathode coating, plate options and gold grid wire, and therefore overall reliability.

 

As the DSL401 is a Class A/B, bias has to be adjusted. We recommend setting it to 25mA per valve.

 

Please measure the diametre of your power tubes before placing the order. Older models of the DSL need smaller tubes (d=20.5mm) - which are no longer available.
